Nellie D. "Sue" Bruton

1929 - 2017 Nellie “Sue” D. Bruton, 87 of Ridley Park died peacefully March 5, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Upland, she was the daughter of the late Francis & Mary Cardwell. Nellie worked as a waitress/hostess for more than 40 years in the restaurant business, retiring in 2004 from the Trieste Restaurant. She took pleasure in traveling with her family, day trips to the casinos and reading. Nellie also enjoyed time at the Jersey Shore, which was known as her second home. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank X. Bruton, who died July 12, 1993. Nellie was the loving mother to Charles (Rita) Love, Susan (Edward) Ashton, Dawn (Matthew) Hamilton and Francis (Joy) Bruton; Grandmother to Airman Edward Ashton, III-US Air Force, Rebecca Love and Michael Ashton; Also survived by sister Dot Decesare, sister in law Mary Cardwell, many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends will be received at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood on Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. A prayer Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM.
