Wallace Locklear Obituary

Wallace Locklear, 94 Of Lima Estates in Media, formerly of Springfield Wallace Locklear, 94, died June 4, 2012. r. Locklear was born in Lumberton, NC. He was a 20 year Navy veteran who served in W.W. II and in Korea, achieving the rank of Chief Petty Officer, E7. Mr. Locklear served on the USS Wasp when it sank. After his retirement from the military he was employed at Norristown State Hospital until he retired. Mr. Locklear was a member and trustee of Springfield Baptist Church and a longtime member of the Masons. Mr. Locklear enjoyed hunting and was member of the Havertown Gun Club for many years. He liked working with his hands and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Mr. Locklear was pre-deceased by his loving wife Lois (nee Ransom) Locklear. Survivors: His daughter Laura (Bill) DuBois; grandchildren Courtney DuBois and Bill DuBois Jr.; also his sisters Margaret Lerner and Dolly Lowry; many nieces and nephews. Visitation 7 to 9 PM Thursday at Williams Lombardo Funeral Home, 33 W. Baltimore Ave., Clifton Hts., PA 19018 and 10 AM Friday at the church. Funeral Service 11 AM Friday at Springfield Baptist Church, 184 N. Norwinden Dr., Springfield, PA 19064 Interment Edgewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250 or Springfield Baptist Church at the address above.
