Richard Alfred Koetzle

Richard A. Koetzle, 91, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Springfield, Delaware County, passed away January 29th, 2026 at Lancaster General Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Philadelphia the son of Violetta and John Koetzle. He was married to the love of his life, Dorothy Koetzle for 49 years until her death 18 years ago.

Richard graduated from Springfield High School and received a BA in Economics from Albright College. After serving honorably in the US Army, he worked as an Insurance Broker in Philadelphia and Ardmore PA until his retirement. He was also a long time volunteer firefighter and ambulance crew member of over 35 years in Springfield.

Richard was devoted to his family and was a good neighbor and friend. He was an active member of Donegal Presbyterian Church in Mount Joy, PA.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Susan, wife of Gary Hoffman; two grandchildren, James and Emily; and two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 10 am at Donegal Presbyterian Church, 1891 Donegal Springs Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donegal Presbyterian Church in Richard’s memory.
