Catherine Butler Obituary
Fruitland - Catherine "Kitty" Virginia Purcell Butler, 95, of Fruitland passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at Salisbury Nursing Home. Born June 20, 1924 in Richmond, VA she was the daughter of the late John and Florence "Etoy" Coulter.
Kitty was the former Secretary Treasurer of the Teamsters Union Local 876. She was bookkeeper for ST Moore, Skipjacks Seafood, and various other businesses. She was a member of Faith Community Church and loved her church family.
She is survived by four children, Sharon Payne (Barry), Linda Dickerson, Roger "Butch" Purcell, Jr. (Dee), and Pam Catlin (Gary); ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roger Purcell, Sr. in 1977; second husband, Elmo "Tommy" Parker Butler in 2016; son-in-laws, Benny Dickerson and Donald Lokey, Sr.; and ten brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of Kitty's Life will be held at a later date at Faith Community Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Kitty to Faith Community Church, 219 N. Division St., Salisbury, MD 21801

I miss my dear friend, Kitty, every day. I think of her so often and just want to pick up the phone and call her. She was a wonderful friend for almost 35 years. I know she is keeping them laughing in heaven! RIP, Kit. I love you!

Miss Kitty was a "Breath of fresh air" to all who met her....A "Classy Lady", "Kind " to all who absolutely loved her children's; and grandchildren . She will be sorely missed....But never forgotten.. GOD Blessed all with her presence.....

Mom...there are no words for how I am feeling. You were without a doubt my best friend besides being my Mother. You have always been there for me no matter what. You were not only my Mom but at the age of 13 you became my Dad too. This has without a doubt been one of the hardest things I have ever had to go thru. You taught me so many things but your unconditional love for family has been the most valuable lesson you taught all of us. You were the sweetest and most loving person and I am so thankful God chose you for my mother. I thank him everyday for you and I pray that you know how much I truly loved you. This last month not being able to see you has been one of the hardest things I have had to deal with but I guess God was trying to prepare me for this moment. I know you are no longer suffering. I will miss this sweet lady so much. I loved her like my own mother. We were friends for many years and I will miss our weekly chats on the phone and seeing her in church. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Rest in peace, sweet friend! You made this world a better place and heaven has gained a beautiful angel.
