Rebecca L. Farlow

Pittsville—Rebecca L. Farlow, 80 of Pittsville, passed away Friday, October 12, 2012 at her home. Born in Powellville, she was the daughter of the late Edwin R. and Alberta Wilkins Adkins.

Rebecca worked several years as a printing operator at Tingle Printing Company and 17 years as a secretary for Howard C. Hammond Insurance Agency in Salisbury. She was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Salisbury Elks Lodge 817 and the Ladies Auxiliary of Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department. She enjoyed several memories of their summer home in Snug Harbor in Berlin. She was a devoted wife, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joshua L. Farlow; granddaughter, Nicole F. Ondo and her husband, Christopher J. Ondo; great-granddaughters, Addyson and MacKenzie Ondo; daughter-in-law, Pamela J. Farlow all of Pittsville; sisters: Thelma B. Hazel of Willards, Edwina A. Rose of Floral City, FL and Roberta A. Franks of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by their son, David E. Farlow in 1992; a brother, John R. Adkins in 2010 and a sister, Mary Belle Truitt of 2011.

A funeral service will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. J. Harvey Dixon will officiate. Interment will be in Pittsville Cemetery.
