Batavia: Age 88, entered into rest September 14, 2007. Beloved husband of Nancy (Stringham) Tarkington of Batavia and the late Ruth (Bennett) Tarkington; loving father of Carol Ann (Theodore) Kustas of Fairport; stepfather of Alan Stringham of Cylerville, NY; Roy (Lois) Stringham of Michigan, Richard (Barbara) Stringham of Ohio, Sally (Gary) Harloff of Ohio, and a stepdaughter-in-law Nancy Stringham of Florida. Grandfather of David, Michael and Deanna Joy Kustas of Rochester, 9 step grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren, 2 step great-great grandchildren and several cousins also survive. He was the step father of the late Ray Stringham and LaMar Hubbard.
Calling hours 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Tue. Sept. 18 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY. Friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Grand View Cemetery, Route 33 Clinton Street, Batavia, NY. Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church, 300 East Main Street, Batavia 14020, Rochester Campus Crusade for Christ, 56 Hallmark Rd., Rochester 14625 or the First United Methodist Church, 8221 Lewiston Rd., Batavia, NY 14020.
