Rochester: March 3, 2016. Beloved wife of Bishop Amos Simmons; dear mother of Debbie (Lloyd) Wilson, Sabrina Rawlins, Pastor Terry (Ariadna), Chastity, Noah (Naree) and Lt. Mark (Jennifer) Simmons. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 3 siblings.
She will lay in state Friday 5-9 PM at Upper Room Family Worship Center, 831 Joseph Ave. and her Funeral Service will be Sat. 11 AM at Redeem Bethel COGIC, 4494 Rte. 104 East, Williamson, NY.

My sympathy to the family of cousin Dot. I am very glad I got to spend some time with her when we came up for my brother's, James, funeral. We had a nice visit with her and cousin Amos. I will forever remember her.

I always remember the story that Mr. Simmons tells about how Mrs. Simmons captured his heart when they were young and how he couldn't pull a game on her, she was a very wise woman and she was always a Woman in a class by herself. I will always remember your beautiful smile and your words of wisdom and encouragement. It has helped me a many days even when i would think wow i remembered when First Lady D. told me to stay encouraged. You seem like you knew what to say at the right time every time. But no matter what may come and what may go im getting ready for His return and in doing so First Lady D. Simmons we will rejoice together again in the Lord. Until then He promised you rest.

Dear Simmons Family....please accept my sincerest sympathies on the loss of your mom and a beautiful wife and grandma. Although I have never met Lady D, I know her through the eyes and heart of her daughter Debbie. As difficult as this loss may be, I know that she left a strong family that understands whose she is and where she is. What a blessing to have that healing knowledge through the tears.
