Evelyn Ofsowitz Obituary
Brighton - April 23, 2021 at age 98. Predeceased by parents, Sam and Ida Norry; brother, Victor; husband, Henry; daughter, Eileen, daughter-in-law, Pia; & many friends. Survived by daughter, Susan (Ron) Markham; son, Michael; grandchildren, Maggie (Rod) Nielsen, Jon (Susan) Goodman, Rebecca (Alex) Veitch, Jesse; great-grandchildren, Marley, Aiden, Abigail, and Toby, and many other relatives.
Evelyn was a former executive secretary at Johnson Controls, a long-term cancer survivor, and a card-carrying Mah Jongg enthusiast.
The family expresses special thanks to the staff on the 3rd floor of Cottage 1 at the Jewish Home as well as the hospice staff assigned to that unit.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 11 AM at White Haven Memorial Park. Friends are asked to meet at the main gate. For those who cannot attend, services will be streamed at www.BrightonMC.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Brighton Volunteer Ambulance or Jewish Senior Life Foundation in her memory.

Im Rose Rosen's daughter.. She and Evelyn were close friends for several years before Rose died in January 2015. She was the first person I called that day and Evelyn ran over to Briar Manor right away to see me and we cried together. She came to my daughters graduation pary that spring and my sisters and I met her for lunch several times over the next 3 years or so and I visited her and we kept in touch over email. My mother and I went to visit when her London family came to visit and she was so excited to see them. I havent talked to Evelyn the last couple of years and I was saddened to hear of her passing. She and my mother had a running joke. who would reach 96 first! Evelyn surpassed that and when talking to her, it seemed that she could live forever! My sincere condolences to her family and I will think of her often.

My condolences to the Ofsowitz family...Many fond memories working at JCI with Evelyn (1973 - 1990). A very special lady and friend. Absolutely the best secretary and work associate ever...

So sad to hear of the passing of Evelyn. Spent almost 30 years at JCI with her. Sorry I missed her last year. Planned to call and plan a visit.
