Lombardo, Gregory
Steven
Webster: Suddenly on October 29, 2009, He is survived by his parents Steven and Betsy Lombardo of Webster; older brother Nicholas Lombardo; grandparents Salvatore and Josephine Lombardo, Paul and Jean Owens; aunts and uncles, Gregg and Peggy Owens, Clifford and Jennifer Owens, Daniel and Alice Lombardo, Michael Lombardo and James Reynolds; cousins Lauren (Jeff), Keith, Kurt, Olivia, Max and Samuel Owens, Jordon and Jacob (Lynn) Buck. Gregory was predeceased by his grandmother Ellen Owens. He was blessed with a very large and loving extended family.
Gregory was a confirmed Lutheran and spent his childhood and teenage years in the Webster Youth Hockey program, sailing and ski club. Greg was also a budding musicologist and music journalist whose tastes ranged from "Mozart" to "Bad Religion"; his vast knowledge of music and the artistic world was augmented by studying violin, performing in school sponsored theatrical productions and singing in acappella and choral groups. A voracious reader, he devoured and retained the diverse writings of, to name a few, Salinger (Catcher in the Rye); Burgess (A Clockwork Orange); and Thompson (The Rum Diary).
Greg was kind, thoughtful, loving, and courageous young man whose "waters ran deep". He asked "the big questions", he searched for the truthful answers; he will be missed.
A Celebration of his life will be held Monday at 2pm in Lady of the Americas Church (Corpus Christi) 864 East Main St. followed by a reception at Colgate Divinity, 1100 South Goodman St. Friends of Greg are encouraged to bring a written memory. In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory may be made to the Veterans Outreach Center, 455 South Ave. Roch. 14620.

Dear Betsy, Steve and Nicolas
I'm so sorry to hear about Greg's passing. I still remember those great weekends up in Canada and the five cousins ( Lauren, Keith, Kurt, Nick and Greg) having a fantastic time.
I have my own family now and I can only imagine what it means to lose a child. I'm truly sorry for your loss.
I keep you in my thoughts Pia

My son was one of Greg's many friends and I know how much they are hurting over his loss. Not a day has gone by that I havent thought of your family. Know that there are hundreds of Webster families that think and pray for you every day. Greg will not be forgotten.

"The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."
Psalm 23
My condolences to the entire Lombardo family and to those close to Greg. Words cannot express the sorrow in such an untimely passing. I hope you can take some solace in good feelings about and fond memories of your son and grandson. God bless.
Fondly,
David Jarvie

Lombardo Family.....With Webster being such a small community the pain and sorrow for the loss of your son is felt by all. I can not imagine what you are going through at this time but know that every tear that is shed and every smile that shines is because your son touched so many lives. Life is a journey that we all must walk and sometimes our journey is shorter then others. Greg made quite an impact in such a short period of time and for that we are all blessed.

Betsy and Steve, No one else knows your pain. No one possibly can. Just know that we your friends hurt with you and maybe in that we can lighten your load just a little. Hold on tight to each other no matter what happens. You two can draw strength from each other as from no one else. There is a great chorus of prayer going up for you and in that there is strength. I am here if you need anything. Don't hesitate to ask.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. I pray that you will find it in your hearts to get through the grieving process. Remember that Greg is happy and with the Lord.
Keep your chins up, spirits higher, and his name closest to your hearts.
Nick, you and your family are #1 on my prayer list. I know we weren't best friends in high school, but I'm your friend. If you need anything-I am here to lend an ear.
God Bless you all and may God heal your broken hearts.

Betsy- you may not remember me- We worked together at Hill Haven. I was deeply saddened to learn of your loss. No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
They Say There is a Reason
They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way I feel,
For no-one knows the heartache,
That lies behind our smiles,
No-one knows how many times,
We have broken down and cried,
We want to tell you something,
So there won't be any doubt,
You're so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.
