My grandpa was my hero. Actually, he was more to me than words can desribe. He was an extremely handy guy. He could fix anything, anywhere, anytime. I still look up to him now and I will forever. He was a great role model, grandfather, father, and husband. I miss him terribly but when I think of him I think of all the good times our family has had together. He could alwlays put a smile on my face. I love you and miss you Grandpa, you will forever be in my heart.

I love you so much,
Julia.

Dear Aunt Cookie, Laurie and Chris,
Uncle Tom was a loving husband, father, Grandfather and Godfather. Hold dear the memories of your time together and realize that he left a living legacy in each one of you, and in us, that goes on as the days pass.
He was genuine and kind and I'll bet right now he is smiling from ear to ear because he has a few nicer golf courses to choose from than the rest of us :-)
We Love You Beyond Words,
Tracey, Dave, Ben, Zack and Jessy

What can I say.
Tom was more than just a brother-in-law to me. After having lived with him and Cookie for so many years, I'm sure he thought that he had two wives instead of just one to put up with. He was one of the easiest going people I ever met. If Cookie and I called him to say we were going to be late because we were still shopping, his answer would always be "That's Ok".
In all that time, I don't remember him getting upset with too many things. He was always there whenever I needed to be taken to or picked up from the airport, along with helping me with everything else I may have needed.
I will miss our going out to dinner on Friday nights and I will always be grateful for letting me be such a big part of your lives.
I love you all,
Flo

Cookie, Chrissy and Laurie.
There are many good things we can say about the way Tom lived, but I was more inspired by the way Tom accepted death.

He never once said, Why me? or how bad he felt. His main concern was if he had done enough for his family.
I hope that I will accept my time with the same strength and dignity that Tom did.

"My Grandpa"

I would like to take a couple moments to describe my grandpa from the point of view of one of his grandchildren. He was the jolliest, proudest, and strongest man you will ever meet. He enjoyed many things in his life. More than anything he enjoyed helping others. To give a few examples one time my dad came up with an impossible idea to build an in ground pool. Well to say one thing this definetly was impossible until my grandpa agreed to help. Being the miracle maker he is over the next four weekends my grandpa would wake up every morning saying one of his famous lines "well let's get to it" until the pool was finally complete. Some other things my gradpa enjoyed were fishing, golfing, and watching racing. I only know a few people that can say this but my grandpa greatly enjoyed his work. Along with work though were computer problems. I cannot count the number of times when my grandpa would say to my dad "well Guy I got a couple of things you need to fix in here." Another way I would describe my grandpa is a great family man. He would always take me to my lacrosse tournaments and football games. Since football was one of his joys he would proudly wear my number on the back of his sweatshirts and help out with the chains. Also my grandpa accomplished everything he was put on this Earth to do. He achieved the greatest goal in life which was he raised a great, close-knit family. He has two very successful daughters and four thriving grandchildren. Also my grandpa left a part of him with all of us. To give an example he left his mechanical advice with my dad. As for myself he taught me a very valuable life lesson which is to always enjoy life, no matter what is thrown at you. Since I loved him so much and respected the type of person he was, he had a great impact on my life and the decisions I've made. The last thing I will say is he is the best grandpa I could ever ask for and he will be greatly missed.

Love,
Your grandson "Al"

Our youngest son, Chris, is getting married Friday night so we won't be able to attend the services. Please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Mrs. McDougal, Chrissy & Laurie,
I have nothing but fond memories of Mr. McDougal. I heard of his recent illness and kept you all in my prayers! It saddens me to know that you all had to deal with this. He was a wonderful man and I have great stories that bring a smile to my face of my times with you all growing up! I know he was a hard worker who put his family first. He will be so missed! Please accept my deepest sympathies!

When we think of what a father should be, Tom comes to my minds eye. I remember his calming presence and his strength. He is as hard as stone and as soft as silk. As a younger man, I looked up to him as someone to emulate. His life is an example to all of us that it is about the journey and how you touch the people around you in a positive way. I know he will be watching over those people he loved, and when they miss his company, the thought of him alone will bring them comfort and they will feel his presence again. We all make this journey, few do it as well as Tom.

Dear Mrs. McDougal, I have thought of Mr. McDougal and you so often since he finished his radiation treatments. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to you and your family at this time. In the brief time that I knew Mr. McDougal, it was so apparent that he was an amazing and remarkable person, and that he partnered with a wonderful wife and had a loving family. It was a pleasure to get to know you both, and a privilege to participate in his medical care. Mr. McDougal is now comfortable and in a better place. This is sent with warmest personal regards. Please take good care of yourself, as you have so many others.

I can't say enough about him. He was just a terrific guy, a great family man, and a good friend. I'll always remember him for the kindness he extended to me along the way and for helping me transition to the truck parts business. He was the most knowledgeable guy I knew in the business and was always willing to share and help out where he could. I can't thank him enough.

My sincere sympathy to you Cookie and the entire family. Tom spoke of you guys all the time to me. There was no question Tom was a loving husband, father and grandfather. You were always uppermost in his mind. I admired him for it.

Needless to say, I will miss him. But I rejoice at how he lived his life and know God will reward him accordingly. He was a good man.
