My old friend Ed Young, was good man in so many ways. Unimposing, unassuming, humble and kind. Quick with a smile and generous with his time and knowledge. Ed loved the outdoors and especially fishing. We shared many outdoor activities and fishing trips together over the years, had a lot of fun and laughs and Ed taught me so much about specific places and techniques for successful fishing in our area. Some of my favorites with Ed were the times we just sat and talked over a cup of coffee. Sometimes a coffee shop, sometimes the front seat of a pickup,...sometimes the bleachers at a Philomath High School wrestling meet. It always felt so natural and easy and the conversation just flowed. In our retirement years we saw less of each other but each time our paths would cross, it was as if no time had passed and we picked up where we left off, exchanging updates about family and life. I will miss bumping into Ed at BiMart or Safeway or Ixtapa and the impromptu visiting that followed. RIP ol' friend.

Ed lived across the street from my family, the Morgan' on 9th Street in Philomath when we were growing up. We had great times up on the hill and many wonderful memories. He was such fun and a good athlete. My sincere condolences to his family.

I remember Ed in high school and he was a great athlete and so darn cute. I was a lot younger but I know he was well so popular. Condolences to his family.
