Phyllis Marie (Booen) Lewis, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 9, 2025, in her hometown of Albany, Oregon.

Phyllis was born on July 9, 1934, in Bertha, Minnesota, the second of five children to George and Ellen (Swenson) Booen. She spent most of her early childhood in Minnesota before moving to Philomath, Oregon, where she attended Philomath High School. She met her future husband, Ewart Benton "EB" Lewis, at a roller rink when she was 14, and they married on May 27, 1950. EB was in the meat business, and Phyllis worked alongside him for many years, first owning their own covered wagon "train" (food cart) in Albany, which later became Valley Meat Company in Corvallis. Eventually, EB and Phyllis returned to Albany, where they ran a small deli called Pepper Tree Sausage House. There wasn't much free time for Phyllis and EB, but when they weren't working, they enjoyed square dancing, fishing, crabbing, and traveling to places like Germany, Australia, and New Zealand. Phyllis was an active member at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Corvallis (1st Ward) and Albany (Takena Ward), where she spent many years volunteering in the library.

Phyllis's greatest accomplishment and joy was her family. She is survived by daughters, Linda Cushman (Jay) and Lori Nunn; grandchildren, Angie Weber (Matt), Tami Vitkauskas (David), Aaron Cushman (Jamie), Ricky Nunn, Carrie Roberts (Darin), Lance Nunn (Jaylyn), Randa Nunn, Dustin Bittler (Nikki), Melissa Rapoza (Randy), and Nathan Lewis (Daniela); 29 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren (with 3 more on the way). Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, EB (2002); son, Lonny (1997); 3 sisters and 1 brother.

A funeral will be held on December 11, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Albany Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1615 28th Avenue SE, Albany, OR 97322. Reception following the service.
