Major Roy W (R.W.) Newbolt
July 12, 1932 - October 12, 2023
ROSEBURG, OR - Major Roy W (R.W.) Newbolt, 91, peacefully passed away at Roseburg Veterans Hospice, Roseburg Oregon. R.W. was with all of his children at the time of his passing. R.W. was born July 12th, 1932 in Owensboro Kentucky, the son of Roy and Julia Newbolt. R.W. was raised in Owensboro, and graduated from Western Kentucky University. R.W. married Dixie Lee Hay on June 30th 1961. R.W. served with distinction in the US Air force, retiring out in 1971. R.W. moved to Albany Oregon and was employed as an engineer with Consumers Power until his retirement. Survivors include his son Theron Newbolt of Boise, Idaho, daughters Christi Hostetler of Bend, Oregon and Valerie McClatchey of Eugene, Oregon. R.W has six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A Memorial service will be held 9:00am on December 8th, 2023 at Eugene Friends Church, Eugene, Oregon. Internment will be that afternoon at the Roseburg National Cemetery. Pastor Ruba Byrd officiating.

I always remember your dad with such a great laugh! He always had such a great outlook on life and when we visited him the last time he loved showing us his wood working shop. He was so talented. When he dated your mom we remember his T- Bird he would drive to pick her up! He loved the Lord and had a beautiful family. We will miss him.
