Paul Preston Newbolt, age 88 of Indianapolis, IN passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025.
Paul was born on February 18, 1937 in Indianapolis, a son of James B. and Bertha Smith. He was one of three children. He is preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings Reginold and Velma.
Paul was married to Janice Bledsoe on June 19, 1956 in Indianapolis. They were married for 61 years until she passed away on February 14, 2018.
Paul is survived by his three children: Terry L. (Brent) Jones of Conyers, GA, Rhonda M. (partner James Hariston) Jacobs of Stockbridge, GA, and Paul P. (wife Wanda) Newbolt of Indianapolis.
Grandchildren: Brian, Brent, Brad, Breonna, Donnie, Paige, Brooke, and Raven.
And a host of great grandchildren.
Paul grew up in Indianapolis. He graduated from Chrispus Attics High School. After high school he went right into the Army in 1954. He was a proud US Army veteran.
Throughout his working career and professional life, he worked as a supervisor for General Motors automotive.
In his free time he greatly enjoyed being an outdoorsman hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed a trip to the casino. Him and Janice had many great years together. He was a hard worker to provide for his family.
Most importantly he was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. The best!
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 12:00 Noo to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park Funeral Center, located at 425 N. Holt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46222.
His funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Erric Peck will officiate.
Entombment will follow at Floral Park Cemetery where Paul will be laid to rest with his wife Janice.
