Christopher Teeter Obituary

Barbara and Ruskin Teeter announce the death in Memphis, TN of their son, Kit, on June 2, 2024. He was 62. The cause of death was an aggressive cancer (peritoneal carcinomatosis).

Kit was active in all Krum, TX little league and high school sports. Beginning in the 7th grade, he worked on wheat harvests in Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. Later he worked on the ramp at Delta Airlines, paying his way through college.

After graduating from the University of North Texas, he decided on an aviation career and began pilot training. Eight years later he was flying the MD-11 for FedEx, and near the end of his 28-year career, the Boeing-777. His ports of call included Europe, the Orient, and South America. He made many friends in his wide travels.

Kit was devoted to his children Cassie, Kinsey, and Kyleigh, and his wife, Wendy Almon, a graduate of The University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. She and Kit led full, adventurous lives including chartering and crewing large sailing catamarans to the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, and the Greek Isles.

He was a patron of St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, the skilled surgeons there having saved the life of his eight year old daughter. Kit was an even-tempered Texan, a straight arrow. He never complained or spoke ill of anyone. He was one of the good guys.

So sorry to hear about Kit. We were new hire classmates at FedEx. Always a gentle smile and quiet voice. He was so easy to have as a friend! Blessings to him and to all that will miss him.
