I continue to miss Dr. Hagen, the kindest doctor I’ve ever had. Wish I could find another one like him. God Be With You Till We Meet Again.

I was so overwhelmed with nostalgic feelings when I read of the passing of Doug. I was immediately brought back to our childhood days in Ledyard, Connecticut where we ice-skated the nights away on the pond at Hagen’s farm. The memories of these glorious times bring smiles to me . even after all these decades.
My deepest sympathies to the entire family. God bless you all and may Doug rest in peace.

I was a classmate of Douglas Hagen in the " American Graffiti " Class of 1962 ,Norwich Free Academy, Norwich Connecticut. I recall Douglas as a prime example of the Student/ Athlete and a leading member of our 1962 New England State Championship Cross Country Team.It saddens me to learn today of his passing through NFA´s Alumni News. He is in my thoughts and prayers. In deepest Sympathy Robert Anthony Fidrych

I'm so sorry, I just heard of Dr. Hagen's passing. He was my first 'American' doctor when I moved to Denton from Canada in 2001. I greatly appreciated his empathy and care he provided at every visit and the time he took with me at every visit. I was greatly saddened when he announced his retirement as I had come to consider him as a friend, not just my doctor. My fondest memory of him is when I bumped into him at the property tax office years after he retired. We sat in the waiting room together talking like two old friends, not as a doctor and a patient. They broke the mold after they made Dr. Hagen.

Dr. Hagen saved my life in 2003. He was my primary care physician until the day he retired. He genuinely cared for all. He is missed. Godspeed, Dr. Hagen.

Colleen, We are so sorry to hear about Doug. He was the most gentle and kindest man we have ever met. He was a great doctor, a great neighbor and a great friend. We loved living by him and your sweet family. Adam was like one of our own sons. My boys loved having Adam for a friend and we loved having you and Doug as friends and neighbors. Trent, Shane and Michelle send their love and Harry and I as well and pray that you find peace and comfort. May the Lord put his loving arms around you and your sweet family and carry you through.
All our love, The Huffman’s

Doug and I were partners in a family medical practice in Denton for 30+ years and I am so sorry to hear of his death. He was not only a highly respected and competent physician but also the gentlest of souls. I recall that his patients loved him and appreciated his care. Loyalty ran both ways.
Our relationship enhanced my own caring for patients...he made me a better physician.
His move from New York to Denton was a gift to this community.
Blessings and peace to Coleen and family.

I discovered years ago that Doug and I were UConn classmates. Colleen and I shared swimming passions. And we became friends, in recent years at Robson Ranch. If ever anyone had a fast track to heaven, it was Doug. Our shared faith gives me hope of seeing him again. Praying for Colleen and family.

Colleen and family, I am so sorry to learn of your husband's passing. It was always a treat to see you both when you'd pop in to the office at ICCS on occasion or to see you at Mass. I really enjoyed getting to know you in our bible study at St. Mark years ago, and a what a wonderful couple you both made. Your strong faith in our Lord will see you through this sorrow and bring you comfort and peace until you meet again. May God bless you and keep you and bring you His loving consolation.

We knew Doug first as Dr. Hagen, then as Colleen's husband. Doug was a quiet man of faith who loved his family well.
May the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, be with you and comfort you as you grieve his passing.

May God Comfort you all in the days ahead. Dr. Hagen was the kindest, most caring doctor I have ever been to. I was a patient until he retired, one of many who had seen him for years. He took time to listen and be there for you when you were sick and hurting. God Bless the precious memory of Douglas Hagen. Family, please know that others care about you during this difficult time.

Doug truly led an exemplary life. A life of dedicated service, foremost to Colleen, Adam and Juliet and their families, to the many patients that he saw in his profession as a physician, to extended family and friends, as well as strangers who were impacted by his kindness and generosity.
I will forever cherish times spent with my brother-in-law Doug and Colleen including coming together at family functions through the years, their visits with Adam and Emily in Los Angeles, our running together in the Dallas and Boston marathons, and meeting with our sister Gladys in Philadelphia on the occasion of the visit by Pope Francis. Most especially on a deeper level we shared a celebration of our faith at Mass at various churches and on a visit to Our Lady of Angels Cathedral in Los Angeles.
Doug leaves an inspirational legacy to the many whom he touched throughout his life. His presence among us will be deeply missed. May he rest in God's peace and hold a seat for all of us to be together again for all eternity.
Peace and comfort to Colleen, Adam and Emily, Juliet and Cory, Noelle, Emerson and Kiersten.

Dr. Hagen was my doctor for many many years. He was always kind, soft spoken, compassionate, and was a great listener. I will always remember when I went to see him in 2009 because I was a total mess emotionally, mentally, because of a devastating divorce. I couldn't eat or sleep. He sat so quietly while I broke down and sobbed and shared my troubles. I could see the compassion in his eyes and even tears brimming but not falling. Dr. Hagen helped me in so many ways over the years but that one day will always be the most meaningful memory of him for me. He had a true servant's heart. He was my physician until he retired. My deepest condolences to his family. Dr. Hagen was a good man.
