Thomas Tipton Obituary

Thomas N. Tipton, Sr.

Tom was born August 13th, 1949 in Barberton, OH. He married his wife, Linda Ralston, in 1972, and had one son, Tom, Jr. Tom and Linda lived in Ohio for 52 years, then in 2001, moved to Denton, Texas to be close to Tom, Jr., daughter-in-law, Elizabeth and their 3 granddaughters, Katherine, Emily and Caroline, who were the joy of Tom's life.

Tom was a proud U.S. Marine, as well as a police detective in the city of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. He retired as a result of the heart issues that ultimately took his life on April 11th in Plano, Texas.

Tom loved Jesus and was honored to lead two Bible studies. He also regularly attended Denton Bible Church. Tom enjoyed playing golf with his son and great friends, and was an avid Cleveland sports fan.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at Denton Bible Church on HWY 380, Saturday, April 29th at 10:00AM. Linda & Tommy,
My sincerest condolences. You guys are in my prayers and know Tom will be missed by all who's lives he touched. What a joy it's been to be part of Lee's family for over 30 yrs., which made us family by sheer definition. I'll always have fond memories of your last visit to Cincy to celebrate Lee's DARE Educator award. I remember how proud she was to have you guys there. AND how much fun we had hanging out eating Graeter's, while she worked. Lee loves Tom like a son. I loved how he loved & respected her as his mom. The Gas Man's presence, smile & laugh will be missed by my family.
Praying for peace & comfort as you navigate this chapter in your life's journey. God's got you.
XO-LeDawn & Sydney

Thanks Tom for being my very best childhood buddy. You know now and you knew then how much it meant to me to have your unwavering friendship in those innocent, simple, yet difficult times.

I'm so happy now that you have graduated with honors from a life well lived based on those Christian values you found so early on.

If you remember, please say a little prayer for me in heaven. I will pray for Linda and all your precious family back here with all my heart.

God Bless you my friend.

Tom & I worked together as partners in the Cuy.Falls Detective Bureau. It is hard to describe Tom in one word. As a detective he was organized, relentless, dedicated and extremely good at his job. We seemed to think alike on most cases and Tom got along well with his peers. Off the job we were partners in a golf league. Tom, also enjoyed the comradery of the Department sports teams. Tom, was loyal to his friends and LOVED his family and GOD. I never heard him take the name of the Lord in vain. So there is not one word to describe him, but I'll add one more about my friend. "Integrity" He will be missed.
