Albert Drumright was born in 1935 and passed at the age of 87 from complications of heart disease. A Colorado native, Al graduated from Holy Family High School and then joined the Navy Air. Al earned a bachelor's degree from Regis University. Following graduation, Al went to work for the phone company and attended DU and UNC to earn a master's degree in education and counseling certification. Al worked for nearly 30 years as a Jefferson County teacher and counselor. His greatest joy following retirement was traveling the world with his beloved wife of 65 years, Eleanor. A dedicated family man, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Emma Popp and two sons, Stephen and David. Survived by his wife, Eleanor Zamboni and two children. Son, John (Leslie) Drumright and grandchildren, Dominic, Luke, and Emma. Daughter, Mary (Tom) Elliott and grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Mark.

Mr. Drumright was my sixth-grade teacher, and my memories of that year are filled with sunlight. He made learning fun and listened to our ideas with respect. I remember somehow talking him into letting a couple of us build a wooden model of the heart with marbles to roll through the chambers, and we worked outside the classroom, feeling empowered and excited at creating our own learning. I became a teacher, and he is part of the reason, as he helped me to love to learn and to love the classroom environment. I think of him with fondness and gratitude.

Al was a fine and very accomplished man. Al was our next door neighbor and we will miss him dearly! Our most sincere condolences to the family. God Bless!
