I am truly devastated to hear this news, especially so late. Chet was my daughter's foster mother, and one of the best human beings I have ever known. I could write a book on how much she means to me. She introduced me to the fostering community in a way that no one else could. She and Papa Noel loved my child with everything they had, and I am so blessed to have been a part of their family. There are scores of parents whose parenting journey began with Chet, and we are all better for it. I´m not sure how I´m gonna tell Calise that Granny died, but with God´s help, I will. My heart and prayers go out to the entire extended family, and I hope we will be able to attend the memorial if it´s not too late. Rest in Perfect Peace dear Granny.

I don't know if any of her family will get this message, but hoping so. I have enjoyed and looked forward to the humor that Chet shared in her Christmas letters. She was absolutely delightful and I only wished to be able to discover the secret of how she was able to say things in such a funny way. I have missed hearing from her in the last two years, but saved several of her letters. I remember her as a really great example for her service, fostering both children - and dogs in her later years. My, I am sorry that she is gone from this world.
