You taught us all great values and to be strong-willed. And although you had a hard time showing affection we knew you loved us. So we will be okay since weve got each other. your loving children

I am so touched by the story of your father, Melissa. What a wonderful man and legacy, and an amazing family that remains here on earth. I wish I had the words to help bring you healing, but that is for God and time. Just know that I love you very much. You and your family are in my prayers. ~ Jodi Canevari

We are soo very sorry to hear about Gary. Our deepest sympathy to Susan and his family. I enjoyed the time knowing him at Copper Valley Air, he was always very helpful and supportive. I never knew a guy to get so many things done the way he did. He will be greatly missed!

Gary and I served in the Army together in Germany. There were four of us in a room and we all got to be pretty good buddies. Gary and I stayed in contact for the last 47 years and I have tracked his life over that time from Colorado, Nebraska, Arizona and finally to Alaska. To me, he was a picture of health, loading a 80 backpack on his back and hiking up and down the hills and mountains to get in shape to go hunting, fishing or exploring Alaska.
My wife and I had just returned from a trip to Colorado and Utah when Susan sent me an email on Gary's health condition. My regret is that I did not get a chance to say "Goodby Old Buddy." I will truly miss him. He was a good man and husband. God bless him and his family..

He was always smiling and it seemed like the sun was always shining when Gary was around, even if rain was pouring down outside. I'm SO GLAD we were given the privilege of knowing Gary, I just wish we had met him sooner.
Much love to all the family.

Gary came into my restaurant in Glennallen Alaska every morning at 6 a.m. We spent hours talking and he quickly became my best friend. He was truly a good man who was devoted to his wife and honest right to his core. I will miss him.

Kirk, Mellisa, Michelle, Dale and Amy. The loss of your dad was unexpected. You probably have asked "why" a hundred times and still there are no answers. You can take comfort in the fact that you were all there for him as well as each other at a time that was confusing as well as painful. That what makes you who you are as a person and thats what makes you all a family.
