Isaac McElroy Obituary

McElroy, Isaac
Sept. 30, 1992 - Jan. 15, 2021

Isaac spent his early childhood in Denver where he attended Park Hill Elementary School. He was on the jump rope team and played soccer. Isaac was an eager reader and loved trips to City Park and the Museum of Nature and Science. His family moved to Knoxville, TN, in 2002, where he played soccer and ran cross country in high school. He later moved to Tucson, AZ, where he earned an associate degree in paralegal studies and was attending the University of Arizona and working as assistant manager at Zona Fountains and as an intern at Southern Arizona Legal Aid at the time of his death. He loved cycling, hiking, and scuba diving, and in recent years completed a half marathon and a cross-country bicycling trip. He was a member of the Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, where he served as an usher. He died while traveling to Indiana, where he attended his niece's 1-year-old birthday. Isaac was a bright, adventurous, engaging, and loving man who had a deep love for his family including family dogs. His radiant smile, laughter and sense of humor will be sorely missed by many. Left to cherish his memory are his mother and father, Deb and Jack McElroy of Knoxville; his brother, Nathaniel McElroy of Knoxville; his sister, Kaylee Page of Indianapolis, and her husband Anthony and their daughter Keira; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. The family is dedicating a grove of trees to be planted in a fire-damaged national forest, where saplings will grow in his memory into fresh majestic beauty. Anyone wishing to add a tree can go to treesforachange.com and select "Custom Grove" from the menu and choose Isaac's name from the drop-down. Please hold memories of Isaac in your heart. He was so dearly loved.

I didn´t know Isaac very long and we didn´t talk much, but we had classes together at Pima. Just for the short bit of time I spent around him, he was a person who lit up the room and made the entire class laugh. He was especially great with timing, he knew just when to say something funny and lighten the mood. Anyone could see he was a genuine, outgoing, and kind spirit. My condolences to his family, I imagine he leaves an incredible void without his bright spirit and personality filling the room. Rest in peace, Isaac.

Grammy and Grandpa Jack had such loved Isaac so much. I remember, when we were kids our Grammy would give us baths. Isaac was always so cold after that Grammy would wrap a big towel around him and cuddle with him. He loved it so much that, I think he would shiver so she would. Grandpa Jack would give us beard rubs. Isaac loved them especially because they were so funny and fun. They didn’t have much but, they were rich in love and memories. I’m going to miss them all so much.

Isaac loved his momma. I love this photo because, it shows his smile and why Momma named him Isaac. It means he laughs. He always laughed and smiled at his Momma. I miss you bro.

Bring wood and oil! That guy should have won an award for his part in BBC LOTR Return of the King. Especially, when he was eating. We would have won a ton of money in Vegas because: Never bet against Tom Brady. Especially when all odds are against him. The bad boys two movie scene will never be the same with you dear brother. I wish we could have stormed Area 51 like we planned. I’m so glad you met Keira. I’m going to miss you.
