I always saw my grandpa as a quiet observer. Lovingly watching his family at events, offering cordial conversation, more introverted than my grandma, but kind all the same. He was always concerned with catching up and what we were all doing with our lives.
I think we'll all remember his camera, capturing every moment of the days events. Trampoline time, easter egg hunts, countless birthdays, and christmas celebrations. I have to wonder now if he realized his memory was going, and if he needed those pictures. I'm going to miss the hugs, smiles, and conversations.
I'd like to think he's at peace now, and no longer trapped in a mind that forgot. He can remember all the good times, and he's with our Lord in heaven. I'm going to miss you abuelo ❤

Dad was my biggest fan. He was always there to cheer me on and encourage me to do my best. I was always his shadow when he went with the Knights of Columbus. Everyone responded to my introduction with, "Oh! So YOU'RE Raul's daughter!" He must have talked about me a lot. He always made me feel special and loved. I'm a mathematician and a software engineer because of him. I miss you!

I remember dancing with my new father-in-law on my wedding day and how he whispered in my ear, "I think you got the most handsome one", referring to Ron. I have volumes of his photos capturing many, many, family events and changing faces. Easter egg hunts and Knights of Columbus Christmas parties allowed us to be a point of pride for him. For a season he and I carpooled to work. He drove, each morning a different route. He was kind to me, but he always referred to me as Rachel's Mother. Later as his memory faded I became "that pretty lady". Did he ever really know my name, ha, of course he did. See you on the other side, Dad.

I will miss my Dad and always remember when he took me to the Father/Daughter dance at my school. All the young girls thought my Dad was so handsome. Dad just smiled and talked to them as the girls would giggle and blush. I was very proud of my Dad. I am going to miss Dad forever. (child #7)

I would like to say a few words about my father-in-law...he wasn't perfect but who is? Years ago though when I was very ill..he came and took care of our son..while Greg worked and I was hospitalized for over six weeks..he bought me a suitcase and took me shopping for what I needed..I had lost a terrible amount of weight...he was so kind to me and just took over..I want it known I appreciated that kindness...he could be kind and funny...and he will be missed by this daughter in law...Thank you Raul for those caring times.

In Spain, while visiting the Goudy, we spent hours as he checked out every small detail of the building. Always the architect. Whether on foot or driving, there wasn't a building he didn't scrutinize.

I remember Daddy bringing home stacks and stacks of paper to keep us entertained by having something to draw on. We drew for hours. And then there was the tinkering with the cars (which he could only sometimes fix) much to the consternation of Mom. He loved to tinker and had all sorts of tools which my brothers would run off with.
Three generations.

I remember Dad making wooden stilts for all his children. We made a mess of the front yard, and ourselves, while he took a video of it all. Later, he would play the video back for us, and even ran the film backwards. We all laughed so hard, it was so funny to us to see ourselves fall up! That was my Dad, unselfishly entertaining and loving his kids.
