Much loved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend to many, died from lung cancer in Englewood, Florida. Bob was a fierce friend and protector of his family and friends. To those who were fortunate enough to know and love him, he was a powerful, larger-than-life presence and a man of strong principles, tremendous wit and great intellect. Never one to hesitate to speak his mind or voice his opinions, it was hard to be ambivalent about Bob. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter, Tamara Cole Treece, whose loss he felt his entire life, and his siblings Lee Oren, Betty Ruth, Thomas and James. His death leaves a huge void in the lives of his wife Connie, daughters Alison Treece, Courtney Farrell and Joslyn Treece, sons Scott Treece and Eric Treece, grandchildren Kristen Tamblyn, Rhea Comar, Alexander Comar, Matthew Hutchins, Christian Hutchins, Jacob Treece, Hayden Imgrund, Georgia Imgrund, Lilyana Treece, Makayla Treece, Torin Treece, Connor Farrell, and Ian Farrell, and great-grandchildren Greta Maloney, Milo Maloney and Brooke Hutchins. Bob was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Lee Oren Treece, Sr. and Ruth Ida Smith. He grew up in Colorado Springs and Grand Junction, later attending Mesa College and the University of Chicago. He graduated from the University of Denver College of Law in 1958 and was admitted to practice law in the State of Colorado in 1965. Bob began his distinguished legal career as an assistant public defender for the City and County of Denver from 1967-68. He then joined Hall & Evans, where he later served as Managing Partner. In 1991, Bob formed Treece, Alfrey & Musat with his long-time partners and friends, Tom Alfrey and Rich Musat. Bob was selected for listing in Best Lawyers in America, and served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Law Firm Association from 1983-84. Bob was recognized by clients and opposing lawyers as an attorney of the highest integrity and one of the finest civil defense litigators in Colorado.
