Alexander Rivas Obituary
Our beloved Alex died unexpectedly on May 14th from medical complications. He was born May 22, 1985 to Joanne St. Jeor and Jesus (Jess) Rivas. He is survived by his dad, his big brother Tommy, niece Ava, girlfriend Erin Anderson, countless family members and friends. Preceded in death by his mom, Joanne (April 8th), son Tibbie (dog). We will miss his boyish charm, sense of humor, conversation, general eccentricities and affection for everyone he knew. Alex was a Salt Lake City native but spent many years in Seattle and So Cal. Most recently, he spent time living in Salt Lake and Long Beach, Ca. Alex had a great love for movies, rock music, reading and building models. He especially loved scary movies, watched all of them. Sadly, Alex suffered greatly from crippling rheumatoid arthritis and other serious medical complications, struggling greatly with his illnesses.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 450 E. 2100 South, S.L.C. on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. We will hold a visitation hour prior to the service. Graveside burial will be at Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful. We will hold a small luncheon after the Funeral Mass at St. Ann's Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Ann's Church.

Mi más sentido pésame para toda la familia. Cuando se nos muere un ser querido, parece imposible aguantar el dolor, la tristeza y la desesperacion. Es entonces cuando mas necesitamos el consuelo de la palabra de Dios. Jesus dijo en Juan 11:25: "Yo soy la resurrección y la vida. El que ejerce fe en mí, aunque muera, volverá a vivir". Saber que podremos ver de nuevo a nuestros seres amados que han muerto, nos alivia el dolor y nos da esperanza. EA
