I am a better person for having had Grandpa Dr. Charles in my life. He was good to my father James and good to me as well. I am deeply saddened by this loss and will be forever grateful for having been blessed with such loving and wonderful grandparents.

Saddened deeply by the departure of Uncle Charles. He was exceptional, as well we think of you Aunt Merle. You folks were a fine team. Our parents Edna and Howard T. Pitts shared many memories spent camping, fishing and visiting together. Howard, was 41/2 years old when his Uncle Charles joined the family at Myton. Our grandmother Ruth Edwards Pitts (Charles, eldest sister) and grandpa Tom enjoyed family gatherings. Many times I was able to visit many cousins near my age when going to the "Great Basin" with them. I last visited the area with a four day tour with my father in 2002. Most endearing were the talks that Uncle Charles presented at both our mother Edna's funeral in l997 and for our father Howard T. Pitts late Sept 2005. Know this Aunt Merle, you are all so loved. May each of you find comfort now and in the days ahead as love continues and many memories brighten times we've shared with family and friends. Charlotte and Wally Kilfoyle sister Myrna has signed. All of Us can remember those people who had an impact on our lives. Charles can be counted as one of those people in my life. Not only do I remember Him as my first dentist, but I remember those times when Larry would take me with them to His property in the Strawberry area, and Charles would always have chores to keep me busy ( and out of trouble ). Every time I visited at his house, or when camping, or whatever we were doing. Charles always had a smile and a kind word. He was genuinely a caring and giving man, never expecting anything in return. He will be truly missed.

Charles was a dentist who never looked down in the mouth.
I will always be glad to say he was my friend.
Actually, I think of them together. He and Merle were always doing things that everyone else was too tired, too out of shape, or too busy to do. Even after illness or surgery, they were the ones to serve at the welfare cannery or whatever needed to be done.
They were early risers, and always beautifying and gving.

So very sorry for your loss--a loss so many of us share. Charles was an inspiration to all who had the privilege and opportunity to know him. His and Merle's compassion and caring was extended to all. He will truly be missed. My prayers and condolences go to each member of your family. Thanks so much for being a part of my life Charles and Merle!

No man can have the type of gratitude than that of Brother Edwards. I remember getting back into the church and him being very kind and loving to everyone that he came in contact with. I will remember him for coming up to me and saying hello. What a powerful spirit he had. I would always make it a point to greet him when I saw him to just get a piece of that wonderful spirit he had to offer. I love you Brother Edwards for being a friend and a brother to me. Till we meet again, Keep your spirit shinning down upon all of us.

A man of many great and inspiring words although I only knew him for such a short time. He and Merle were always a joy to see walking hand in hand like a couple of newlyweds into the clinic. I know he is still watching over his family as he praised them so highly. He will be deeply missed. God Bless.

Charles will be greatly missed by all that knew him, but everyone that knew him has been greatly blessed. When Charles and Merle would take their early morning walks. We would have conversations in our driveway with them. We are in our 20's and with work and school we didn't pay much attention to our yard. One morning Charles drove his scooter over filled with beautiful orange flowers that he wanted to give us to plant in our front yard. I also remember one morning finding Merle weeding our yard. What great neighbors they are and the beauty they share has really blessed our lives. I know one thing that has changed for the better is that we take much more care and pride in our yard, because of their great examples. We love you Merle and appreciate all of the kindness that you and Charles have shown to us. We will definitely miss his sweet presence, but I believe that when we see him again he will smiling with a bouquet of flowers. :)

This earth lost a beautiful person when my dear Uncle Charles died. Of course, I know the spirits on the other side were happy to welcome him. Uncle Charles was the uncle of my father, Howard Pitts, and the brother of my grandmother, Ruth Edwards Pitts. He gave a wonderful talk at my father's funeral. I so appreciated that, as did the rest of the family. He was a great man and was so kind and giving. He and Aunt Merle always attended the great events in my life. Beyond that, when my children went on missions, they were there; when they were married, they were there. My husband, Leonard, also loved Uncle Charles and shed tears when he read me the obituary this morning. He has been calling our children to let them know of his passing. He so enjoyed the part of the obituary so obviously written by Uncle Charles. In all aspects, he was my "great" uncle and I love him and will miss him. Leonard and I want to let you, Aunt Merle, and the family know that you are loved and that you have our sympathy. Aunt Merle, we also think that you are a great woman and pray that our Heavenly Father will comfort you at this time.
