Dewayne Dazley Obituary

Dewayne Dazley

1938-2021

Salt Lake City, UT—T. Dewayne Dazley born January 16, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Thomas John Dazley & Hilda Lila de St Jeor passed away Monday, July 26th from complications of heart surgery.

We are heartbroken with the loss of our dear Dewayne, husband, father and grandfather. Dewayne & Marlene had a wonderful life together. His family was his greatest joy, it was everything to him. He was a spiritual giant, a faithful devoted servant in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings. He graduated from West High and attended the University of Utah. As a young boy Dewayne with his siblings learned to work hard and shared that gift with others. He served as missionary for 2 ½ years in Chile becoming one of the first assigned missionary groups when Chile became a mission. He also loved his country and served in the Army for 2 years and the Army reserves for 2 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, his son Marlowe (JaNeanne) Dazley, daughter Heather (Troy) Benson, grandchildren; Marlowe Dazley II, Ian (Vanessa) Dazley, Alexis Dazley, Connor Dazley, Zander Benson and Landen Benson, brother Robert (Ernie) Dazley, sister Nila (Ron) Harry.

Proceeded in death by parents and brother Norman Dazley. A viewing will be held Friday, July 30th from 6:00-8:00pm at the East Millcreek 12th ward chapel at 3103 East Craig Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the same location at 12:00 with a viewing for family and friends from 11:00-11:45. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

Dear Marlene,

Sandy and I want to tell you how very sorry we are on the passing of your husband, Dewayne. Although I had only met him two or three times, and Sandy only once, we could tell that he was a kind and good man. When we saw the two of you together not so long ago, your love for each other was also easy to see.

We are also very sorry that we were not able to see you in person to express our condolences. It was just today that we learned of his passing. We would have been there if we had known in time.

Sincerely,
Paul and Sandy Iwasaki
