1949-2016
Riverton-Mary Lou Johnson, the only child of Harold and Meda Johnson, returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 14, 2016. She was 67. After many years battling the ailments that "body beautiful" brought her way, Mary knew the end was near. She enjoyed visits from loved ones before she passed away peacefully at IMC Hospital in Murray.
Her childhood was spent helping Mom at the family restaurant in Garden City, Minnesota, and keeping Dad company during his drives to town. Mary joined the LDS church in 1969 and soon moved to Utah. She worked at the Church Office Building and Print Center in several different capacities and made many lifelong friendships along the way.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, and her dear friend Winnie. Her "daughter" Becky, "granddaughter" Eden, and "sisters" LaRae and Ipo will miss her greatly, as will the Hunsaker family and her many treasured friends.
Friends may call Friday, February 19 from 5-7pm at Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 S. 2200 W. Riverton. Services will be at Broomhead Funeral Home on Saturday, February 20, at 10am, where friends may call an hour prior. Aunt Mary, I will miss your smiles and your laughter. I will never forget when we would get to sleep over at your house as children... it is a very special memory, and I will cherish it forever. I am so happy that you are back with your parents, Winnie and Grandma and Grandpa Hunsaker. Give them all our love. Mary was not only a sweet lady but a great teacher to so many who had the pleasure to know her. May you rest now from the afflictions you bore in this life. May you take great pleasure in again seeing the throngs who awaited your return. We will miss you my friend.

Mary was a close and dear friend. I thought the world of her and Winnie and I am so glad that she was a part of my life. We had many good visits and great times going out to dinner. She is a beautiful lady and I'm sure there was a great reunion with her family.
