The kitchen at the Swaner house was one of my favorite places to be during high school. Nancy always made everyone feel welcome and she was just a pleasure to be around. One of my favorite memories of that time was when Scott was on a Bee Gees kick and he had them playing upstairs. Someone said something about "The Hustle" and Steve and Nancy suddenly and expertly demonstrated it for us, they were really good! Scott, Stephanie & Travis, I'm sorry for your loss and also thank you for some great memories.

Dearest Stephanie, Scott & Travis - I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your dear, sweet Nancy. She was a beautiful soul and so full of love and faith. A great love for her dear Stephen and a devoted loved for her beloved children and grandchildren. And great faith in our Savior.
So many fond memories of Nancy and your family have flooded my mind since learning of her passing. She truly was a great friend to everyone. My life was blessed to have been in her circle of friends.
Words cannot express the sadness you are feeling right now - but hopefully you will find comfort in knowing that she is with her beloved Stephen.
Sending my love and prayers your way.

Having known Nancy since Hillside Jr. High, and her husband, Steve as a fraternity brother, spending years skiing the out of bounds and dirt bikes far and wide, enjoying Nancy's always beautiful hospitality, I will miss her as I miss Steve. Her children are as siblings to my own. I wish them every good thing along with all her family. Ruth Ann, my wife, will be at the service, wishing I could be there, too.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of this wonderful, vibrant woman! We have lived next door to Nancy for over 35 years and watched her beautiful children grow up. She truly was a devoted wife and mother and had to endure much as she lost her dear husband so early in her life. Through it all, Nancy has gone forward and dealt with her challenges and love for life with courage and optimism. Nancy, you will always be an influence for good because of your love for others. We send our love and condolences to your precious children, Stephanie, Scott and Travis and your grandchildren who we know you loved and adored. May your Spirit soar as you have moved on to the next stage of your eternal life with your loved ones who have gone before and your Savior, Jesus Christ.

I was happy to be the other Nancy in the ward to have such a beautiful, stylish, lovely woman with the same name. She was delightful, a great role model for the young women, and a wonderful mother. I am saddened by her departure from our midst, and celebrate her life with you all.

We moved to Fort Douglas Circle about the same time as the Swaners. What wonderful neighbors and friends. Our kids went to school together. Nancy and Paula worked in Young Women together and, oh my, was Nancy loved by them! Steve and Nancy were a great couple and super parents. Nancy had such a bright and loving personality that others wanted to be around her. Our love and condolences to Stephanie, Scott, and Travis on the loss of their very special mom - truly a one-of-a-kind lady!
