Very sad to hear about passing of one more of the Dave Clark Five. There music was so upbeat and fun to dance to. I can only imagine he will be jamming with Mike Smith, Lenny Davidson, and Denny Payton again in that great band in heaven. Rest In Peace Rick and thank you for all the music you made with this great group.

My twin brother and I play bass in middle school. We really enjoy the rich and low voice of the bass. John 5:25 says," ... All those in the memorial tombs will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who have taken heed will live."

The 3 big rivals of the 60's British invasion were the Beatles, Rolling Stones and the Dave Clark 5. The DC 5 made more appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show than any one performer. Rick Huxley was a very big part of all of the fun we had back then. Great music. My condolences to his family.

I had the exceptional privilege of having Rick play Bass in my local London Band during the eighties. He was a kind, funny, brilliant guy. We lost touch when I moved to Spain, but we found each other again over the internet, and had some great chats up until a few weeks ago.
God bless you my friend, and may you be playing up there when it is my turn...I shall miss your incredible humour and compassion.

Living in the sticks meant looking for a way to be entertained which your parents would approve of. Rock and Roll did that - and along with the Fabs - the DC5 helped propel from childhood to womanhood. I never saw them in person but loved their music. I too rushed home from Sunday evening church services to watch Ed Sullivan and the DC5. Funny to think of it now - but very important to make it home in time to catch the show. Thanks for the memories. Prayers for all his fans, family and friends.

Your music was an important part of my life back in the early 60's. I dashed to the black and white TV every Sunday to watch the Ed Sullivan show hoping to see if the DC5 was playing. And now along with Denny, Mike and yourself, you can Rock on Forever in Rock and Roll Heaven. You will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to the Huxley Family, Dave Clark and Lenny Davidson. Peace.

DC5 Flashback - 5am Christmas day 1965 I unwrapped a portable record player, a Four Seasons Golden Hits album and a 45rpm - "Over and Over", which I played over and over again cranked up LOUD all morning long. That tune hit No.1 the same day on WLS radio in Chicago. I hope I helped. Thanks Rick Huxley and mates for the thrills as fresh today as back then.
