Ann Adams

Des Moines

Ann Adams, 72, of Des Moines, died on January 25, 2017 of Alzheimer's disease. She was born on April 28, 1944 in New York City to John & Nancy Moloney. After finishing high school, she studied art at the School of Visual Arts in New York City and at Drake University following her move to Des Moines in 1969. She married Frederick (Rick) Adams in 1964 and together they had five children, Shavaun Taylor, Maura, Lauren, Ethan, and Benjamin Adams. Ann is survived by her husband, five children, four grandchildren, Caroline, William, Catherine, and Elizabeth Taylor, as well as her sister, Sheila Rapp.

Ann was an accomplished and talented artist who was skilled in several techniques, although painting was her true love. In addition to her artwork, she was an avid gardener and adored her cats, of which she had many over the course of her life. Besides her family and friends, these were the things that gave her the most pleasure and satisfaction. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations can be made to the Animal Lifeline of Iowa or the Alzheimer's Association. A memorial ceremony will be held in the spring of 2017.
