Brian Houston Obituary

Brian Arthur Houston

Des Moines

6/9/1971-2/9/2016

I read of a woman who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.

She referred to the dates of his tombstone from the beginning to the end.

She noted that first came the date of his birth and spoke of the following date with tears, But she said what mattered most of all was the dash between those years.

For that dash represents all the time that he spent alive on earth. And now only those who loved him know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we own; the cars, the house, the cash, What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash.

Brian is survived by friends and family who love him and miss him dearly.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday 2-13 at the Maytag Scout Center, 1-4 pm. 6123 Scout Trail, Des Moines Iowa

Brian, you were a dear friend to my brother. You were apart of our family. I have great memories of you from Christmas with your dogs & as a teenager just talking. You were a good listener & a sweet guy. Rest in Peace.
