Germany

Ingo (John) Lutz Reichelt, M.D., 69, of Regensburg, Bavaria, formerly of Deining, Bavaria, Germany, died on September 21, 2009 in Regensburg after a battle with liver cancer.

Dr. Reichelt was a family practitioner in Deining, a small rural farming community. He was an AFS exchange student in the Class of 1958 at Theodore Roosevelt High School. While in Des Moines, he resided with the Arthur and Helene Roberts family. In 2008, he made a visit to Des Moines for the 50th class reunion.

His hobbies included classical music, mechanical gadgets and current events in the USA.

He is survived by his wife, Inge, daughters, X. Felicitas (Dr. Robert) Obermaier and Carolin (Dr. Rainer) Berchtold; grandchildren and H. Jochen Reichelt also survives.

Funeral services were held in Regensburg, Germany on September 24, 2009. Inurnment will be at a later date in Deining, Germany. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements made by the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320 Blue Rock Road, Millersville, PA, 717-872-2266.
