Jeffrey Baker Obituary
Pleasant Hill - Jeffrey Scot Baker, 55, Pleasant Hill, IA, died January 28, 2018 in Des Moines, IA.
Survivors include daughters, Nicole & Tara Baker, mother, Sharon K. (Ray) Nelson, brother, John (Tammy) Baker, sisters, Laura (Doug) Shultice, Jill Jordan, Gunner his Labradoodle, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his dad, John W. Baker, and grandma, Beatrice Caldwell Archer.
Jeff served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was honorably discharged as Sergeant. He was a diesel mechanic and owned Baker Machine. His love of vehicles also showed in the classic cars that he owned and pampered.
Nicole and Tara, 'Daddy's Girls', looked forward to "Donut Friday's" and being spoiled by Jeff. He loved being outdoors, especially time at Lake of the Ozarks. Cars, trucks, boats, NASCAR, and the Iowa Hawkeyes completed his diversions. His dog, Gunner, was a constant companion.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Friday, February 2, 2018, Grandview Park Funeral Home, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, IA 50312. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home with family greeting friends from 5 to 7pm.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines, on Friday, with Military Honors.
Memorial: Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

To the Baker Family: Was very sad to hear the news of Jeff's passing. I had the privilege of working with Jeff (and Jim) for many years at the Machine Shop. That relationship grew into a friendship over the years and was proud to call Jeff my friend.
Met Nicole and Tara briefly last year on Father's Day at the Peace Lutheran Classic Car Show where he was showing his Cobra and Corvette classic cars. Jeff was so proud to have his girls with him at the show that day!!
May the good Lord bless you and keep you during this time of great loss and sorrow. Please know that our prayers are with you during this most difficult time.
