My sympathies to the Rastetter family, LaVon and Harley were my godparents and were great people.

All my sympathies go out to the Rastetter family. I always enjoyed seeing Aunt LaVon and have fond memories of her during my youth. I had planned to come to the prayer service, but ended up being home sick in bed this weekend. I was thinking of all of you and praying for your comfort during this difficult time. Sending my card and memorial via mail today. Hope all is well with each of your families.

LaVon was there for me as I grew up and at important events in my life. She provided laughter, cookies, and a place of solace to stay while my family traveled back and forth to Iowa. LaVon knew how to love others and I am thankful to God for her life and presence in mine.

I have many wonderful memories growing up and visiting Aunt Lavon on the farm, climbing trees to get a good apple, gathering eggs, & playing with my cousins there. My biggest regret is not keeping in touch with her children since we have grown and many moved out of Iowa. We used to get together every Thanksgiving in Iowa falls--last one I remember was 1992 or 1995. Then we had wonderful times together at Christmas at Grandpa Weber's home in Dows! Mark was a Jr. groomsman in our wedding in Evansdale, Iowa November 27, 1964! The last times I saw Aunt Lavon was at my mother, De Elda's funeral in 2015--she was 100 and 9 months and at Aunt Berniece's funeral in 2016--she was 101 and 1 month! I send my love and sympathy to all my cousins from Kentucky! I would love to see anyone & they are always welcome to come see us in the beautiful mountains of Kentucky!

A mother is with us always, first in her lifetime, then forever in our memory.
You are in our thoughts as you celebrate her life.

LaVon was so fun and such a good help for us as we wrote the Sielaff Family History. She was also a really good cookie baker!
