Sherry L. Defenbaugh, 54, died on Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Hospice of Jasper County Monarch Wing in Newton. Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2009, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton. Following the service there will be a burial of ashes at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Immediately following the burial a luncheon will be served at the Shelter House at the Kellogg Park. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County may be left at the funeral home.
Those left to honor Sherry's memory are her husband, Dan Defenbaugh, of Kellogg; parents, Richard and Shirley Mielke, of Newton; two daughters, Kim (Sam) Batterson, of Des Moines and Angela (Bob) Evans, of Newton; her two sons, Joe Defenbaugh, of Azle, Texas and Joe (Ellen) Defenbaugh, of Indianola; six grandchildren, Dylan, Drew, Faith, Kirsten, Torie, and Tyler, and one grandchild on the way; her sister, Karen Wathen, of Newton; her two nieces, Danielle and Mercedes; and nephew, Blake.
