Stephanie Eslinger Obituary
Des Moines
Stephanie I. Eslinger, 70, of Des Moines died of respiratory failure on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center after an extended illness. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date at Plymouth Congregational Church of which she was a member.
Stephanie was born on October 29, 1942 in Monessen, PA to the late Rev. Dr. Russell and Mrs. Ruth (Bond) Steininger. She grew up in Butler, PA and was a graduate of Wittenberg University in Ohio and the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. A long career in social work led her to her most recent service at Broadlawns Medical Center.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 43 years, Ronald of Des Moines; daughter, Elise Eslinger (Don Perkins) of Northfield, MN; son, Evan Eslinger of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Merab Drennen of Butler; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Lutherlyn P.O. Box 355 Prospect, PA 16052, a church camp founded by her father.
