North Richland Hills, Texas - Benny Floyd Freeman, 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2024, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107. Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2024, in Greenwood's Live Oak Chapel at 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, Texas 76107; followed by entombment at Greenwood Mausoleum.
Benny was born on June 3, 1932, in Oklahoma. He lived in Stratford, Oklahoma for most of his life. He attended Murray State University and graduated in 1952 with an associates degree before attending Oklahoma A & M University (later known as Oklahoma State University) and graduated in 1954 with a bachelor's degree in engineering. After 45 years of employment, he retired as an engineer for Lockheed Martin in 1999. Benny also had over 40 years of service with the Greater Fort Worth Bowling Association, serving as Director, President and 30 years as the Association Manager before retiring in 2011. Benny was inducted into the Greater Fort Worth Bowling Association Hall of Fame in 1985.
Benny was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Lou Freeman; parents, Claude and Opal Freeman; and brothers, Claude Jr. and Jimmy Lloyd Freeman.
He is survived by daughter, DeNae Freeman; sons, Steve Freeman (Carol) and David Freeman (Melanie); grandchildren, Whitney Kiger (Clint) and Justin Freeman (Sidney); along with great-grandchildren, Brixton and Brazin Freeman.
