Charles Maley Obituary

Charles Ray Maley was called home on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014. Service: 10 a.m. Saturday at Biggers Funeral Chapel, Dr. Jerry Locke officiating. Committal with Masonic Graveside Rites: 2:30 p.m. in Woodson Cemetery in Throckmorton. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please direct donations to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children at his request. Pallbearers will be Harlan Metts, Gary Johnson, Royce Shields, David Rolls, Gene Fowler, and Tommy Maley, Jr.; honorary pallbearer, Casey Jones. He was born June 26, 1945, in Fort Worth and had resided in North Richland Hills at the time of his death. Charles worked for the city of Fort Worth for 42 years in the Public Works Department as a surveyor and retired as a senior construction inspector. Charles retired after 22 years of service in the Texas Army National Guard. A big part of Charles' life was his devotion to the Lake Worth Masonic Lodge, #1410, A.F.&A.M. He was a past worshipful master, presently serving as treasurer, and was a charter member and he was awarded the Golden Trowel in 2001. He was a charter member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and he was also a member of the Lake Worth Eastern Star. Charles was an avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for the outdoors. He had a great devotion to his family and friends and could be called upon at any time and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Irene Maley. Survivors: He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Beverly Maley; sons, Kevin Ray and wife, Glenda, of North Richland Hills, and John Charles Maley of Azle; brother, Tommy Maley Sr. of Richland Hills; his beloved grandchildren, Autumn, Maison and Lauren Maley; and many nephews and nieces.
