Cleo Stephens Obituary

Cleo P. Christian Stephens, 95, a retired Fort Worth ISD teacher, a longtime resident of the Stop Six community, and a native of Ironton, Cherokee County, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at a Plano nursing center. Service: Noon Friday, Nov. 9, at Historic Greater St. James Baptist Church, 2210 Harding St. Interment: Ragsdale Cemetery, Jacksonville, Texas. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Chapel. Cleo was the third child of the late John and Martha Christian. Cary Stephens, her husband of over 65 years, preceded her in death. No children were born to their union. Survivors: Her nieces and nephews, Ora Taylor of Tyler, Hertha Echols, Harnell Williams (Lester), Orethann Price and John Echols, Dallas, George Christian of Pittsburg, Calif.; great-nieces and great-nephews, French L. Taylor II of Dallas, LaNetia Taylor of North Richland Hills, Jorge Freeman Echols of Lancaster, William Tyler Echols of Plano; cousin, Geraldine Shanks Williams of Fort Worth; caregiver, Frances Rosewell; and other relatives and friends.
