I had the pleasure of knowing Cliff during my Air Force years at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth during the 1970´s. We both were assigned to the hospital medical staff and were on the hospital golf team.
My best memories were going to the Colonial Golf Tournaments together and playing Saturday morning golf, no matter the weather, with him and other medical staff in our foursome. We played for "dimes". After golf, we would go to Denny´s for breakfast to determine who won the most dimes!
We had so much fun together.
My condolences to his family.
Rest In Peace my friend!

This candle is a back up to my earlier posting. Enjoyed by golf outing with Cliff and an honor to have known him.

Sorry to hear Cliff has left us. He and I played a lot of golf together. Especially during our old younger days as walkers. He had a habit of walking in front of me before I had hit and I repeatedly told him that he was not safe in front of me since I had no real idea of where the ball might go. His famous reply was "don't worry if you hit me it will be my fault not yours." Never did manage to hit him.
He, Wayne Cole and I managed to get, what was to be my final round with him, a short time before he departed Fort Worth for Colorado.
He had his ruff side, but I guess that came from his time in the Navy.
I glad I had the honor of knowing him.

Absolutely heartbroken this morning to hear this. He was a great friend to my dad, and our family had the honor of spending several Thanksgiving dinners with Cliff. Such a sweet and special man, he will be missed terribly! Love and thoughts and prayers to his family during this difficult time.
