David Leslie Wesson

1938 - 2014

David Leslie Wesson went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2014. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, at First Baptist Church in Alvarado. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home in Alvarado. David was born Dec. 3, 1938, in Alvarado to Jack and Fannie Wesson. After graduating from Alvarado High School, he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1958 and served in the Marine Reserves for six years. He worked for Foster Financial Corp. for 35 years. David was a longtime resident of Burleson and enjoyed gardening, fishing and coaching Little League sports. He had a love of all animals, particularly his beloved dogs. He was an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns, Texas Rangers and the Alvarado Indians. David married his wife of 51 years, Judi Tucker, on May 4, 1963. Mr. Wesson was preceded in death by his parents; brother, J.C. Wesson; and brother-in-law, James Simmons. Survivors: Wife, Judi; daughter, Leslie Coleman and son-in-law, Christopher, of Colorado; son, Steven, daughter-in-law, Teri, and granddaughter, Jill, of Burleson; sister, Patricia Simmons and nephew, Johnnie Simmons, of Alvarado; sister-in-law, Katie Wesson (J.C.); nieces, Donna Shepherd, Jackie Tucker and Angela Callahan; aunt, Eva Allen; close friend, Harold Shrader; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
