Way back in 1968-70, Floyd became a fast friend. Kathy and I and Floyd spent a lot of time together that year. We kept in touch after that with occasional phone calls and Christmas cards. Wish we had lived closer together - N.C. and Texas are pretty far apart for a drive. Rest easy Floyd. Kathy and I will be there for a visit sometime soon, I expect!

Dr. Durham as he will always be known endearingly to me, was by far my favorite TCU professor. I was just looking him up again and found this. He made me think in new ways and made me feel comfortable in the learning environment. He shared his life with his students and and in doing so made an impression that lasted a lifetime. Blessings to you all and so sorry for you loss.

Bob and Kathy and "family"!

Floyd and I spent a year together at Yale in 1969-70. He was a great friend. Kathy and I enjoyed his company and we wish we could have visited with Floyd and his wife since that time, but North Carolina is far from Texas! Floyd, rest in peace. You are missed by all who had the pleasure of your friendship!

I will miss Floyd's famous advice for obtaining a job - no boots and no zoot suit either. He was only half right. My condolences to you - Patty and Ronnie for your loss.

Natalie and I wish to express our sincere condolences to Patty and Mark (one of the best finance students I ever encountered). We shall never forget Floyd's stories which invariably ended in laughter nor will I ever forget Floyd's practicality and wisdom that he so generously shared with T.C.U. students fortunate enough to enroll in one of his classes or to seek him out for advice. HE MADE A REAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE UNIVERSITY AND WILL BE MISSED BY THOSE WHO KNEW HIM. May the Lord bless you all.

Floyd will be missed but we will always cherish the memory of our interesting and amusing discussions at meetings of TORCH, the annual Chinese New Year's Dinner and bag lunches at TCU. Topics included politics (international, U.S., local & TCU), travel and history, especially of Floyd's mother's side that came from Scotland to Ireland to Pennsylvania and finally to Texas. Our condolences to Patti and family. Marlene & Manny Reinecke

I had the best granddad in the world. He always made me laugh and told the best jokes and I was always so excited to see him and spend time with him. Grandad was one of the smartest people I know, and I always looked forward to our Agatha Christie book discussions. Grandad also had a great sense of humor. He told the best jokes that were always perfectly-timed and clever, and always followed up by a profound thought on life. I will miss him so much and I will miss his kindness and love. He was the greatest grandfather a girl could ask for, and he will be loved always.
