GASTONIA -- Hunter Lee Hinson, 13, went to be with the Lord, March 8, 2014 at his home.
He was born Nov. 19, 2000 in Cleveland County, son of Sandra Wright Austin and the late Roger Stephen Hinson Jr.
A funeral service will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13 at Chapel Grove Baptist Church, 716 Camp Rotary Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052 officiated by Pastors Brian Austin and Harold Ashe.
Anyone who attends the services please bring a new Hot Wheels car to be donated to the Levine Children's Hospital in memory of Hunter.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052.
Interment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Patterson Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain.
Hunter's body may have been weak but he was the strongest boy spiritually and touched many lives. He was a blessing from God. The best boy ever!
He was a member of Charity Baptist Church of Gastonia.
In addition to his mother, Sandra Austin, he is survived by: his father, Brian Austin; maternal grandfather, Johnny Wright; great grandmothers, Doris Upchurch and Virginia Putnam; brother, Roger "Stephen" Hinson III; sister, Stephanie "Hope" Hinson; aunts and uncles, Kim and BJ Darby, Krystal and Terry Bumgardner, Jessica and Casey Harmon, Brea and Jack Gouge; cousins, Jeremy and Justin Darby, Raegan and Ryan Bumgardner, Chloe Harmon, Caleb and Emily Pike.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Shirley Wright; paternal grandparents, Roger Hinson Sr. and Elizabeth "Betsy" Hinson; special grandmother, Barbara King Wright.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia. A guest registry is available at greenefuneral.com.

My sweet friends Sandra, Brian, Hope, and Stephen my heart broke when I got the call on Saturday about Hunter receiving his Angel wings 'going to live high on that mountain'. Hunter was such a strong willed, good spirited little boy, and he had to be, there was so many obstacles for him on a daily basis, but he would smile, laugh, and play with his cars, army soldiers, horses, or watch his videos. (You never knew what little cars or toy soldiers he had stuffed in his pockets). He would always crack me up over how territorial he was over his toys and video games, plus how he would pick at Hope just to make her mad. He always knew how to rile her up (lol), but then he knew how to sweet talk the ladies too (lol).
Just know that he was an amazing little boy that will forever live inside your heart and ours.
