Jack Watts Obituary

Jack Oakley Watts, 86, a retired railroad switchman, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2002, at a Weatherford nursing home.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial: 3 p.m. Wednesday in Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington.

Mr. Watts was born Jan. 10, 1916, in Montague, the son of P.W. and Etta Lucy Oakley Watts. He moved from Wichita Falls to Palo Pinto in 1994.

He was preceded in death by his son, Horace Gene Watts; six sisters; and six brothers.

Survivors: Wife of 66 years, Cora Mae of Lake Palo Pinto; daughter, Mary and husband, Ray Hollis, of Lake Palo Pinto; grandchildren, Shelia and husband, Jim Bybee, of Arlington, Nickie and wife, Carla Hollis, of Abilene and Stormy and wife, Julia Watts, of Corpus Christi; stepgrandchildren, Arnold Smithart of Corpus Christi, Brian and wife, Sherry Smithart, of Austin and Donnie Brewer of Conroe; great-grandchildren, Joshua Hollis, Stacey Bybee, Jeffery Bybee and Erica Hollis; stepgreat-grandchildren, Brenda and husband, Wilbur Layten, Brandon Wagonor, Kendra Lott and Dilan Smithart; sister, Margaret Diller of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Judy Watts Elliff; and a host of nieces and nephews.
