Jasil Hightower

Jasil Marie Hightower, 91, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in White's Funeral Chapel, Springtown. Interment: Markley Cemetery, Markley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Jasil was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Markley, the sixth of seven children. In 1936 she married the love of her life, Carl Hightower, and they were blessed by three sons and a marriage lasting almost 70 years. Jasil was a wonderful homemaker, PTA president, Garden Club president, Sunday school teacher and an active member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Keller for nearly 60 years. She was devoted to her large extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Hightower; parents; and numerous family members. Survivors: Sons, Tracy Hightower and wife, Joyce, of Haltom City, Timothy Hightower and wife, Eleanor, of Boyd and Chockie Hightower of Springtown; sister, Sewilla Sheehan of Fort Worth; brother, Leonard Ledbetter of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
