Dear Ginger & Shelle,
I was so sad to hear of our dear, sweet Mike's passing. I saw him in April 2021, before retirement, and he was ready. I first met him in 1976, when my boyfriend HAD to take me to this great place to eat, and Ive been going ever since. My Dad was also a true PCS patron and I met him there for lunch SO many times, especially on "fish Fridays". He always got the chocolate merengue pie. Oh the pies! Mike had so many friends, and each have their stories. You could write a book! His kind nature, big hugs, great smile always greeted you first at the PCS. Then of course he walked around and just visited. How blessed he was to have family and friends who loved him sssooo. I will think of him often, and say "thank you my friend" every time I go to the PCS for CFS & pie! May your loss be comforted by his love of family/friends & the legacy he left FTW. With sympathy...

I have lived away from FTW for 56 years but I often went to the Paris when I returned home for a visit. My last trip was Dec 2019 and Mike came out from the kitchen to give me a hug. We began North Hi Mount together and continued to AHHS '61. I enjoyed a short visit with Ginger that day. Wishing I could celebrate with his family and friends and remembering a fine man gone too soon. Tappy Thompson Scanlan

It doesn't seem that long ago that we were saying goodbye to Mike's brother Greg, yet now we have another Celebration of Life to attend. Mike's was a life well lived and well worth celebrating. He will be missed by so many of his friends from AHHS as well as the restaurant and elsewhere. He was always so welcoming, it was always a treat to see him. I'll never forget the Class of '61 Reunion planning meetings at the Smith's home.
My heartfelt condolences to Ginger, Shelle and the rest of the family.

Mike was always one of my favorite people. Best memory was when we were in college, he at North Texas me at TWU. It was my 21st birthday and I missed the morning bus to Fort Worth. He picked me up at the bus station and let me come to his place and hang out til the 5oclock bus, the last bus. He came and went but saw to it that I made the bus. He never even remembered that day when I told him about it years later, but that was how he was, kind, generous and thoughtful.

I ate at the Paris coffee shop many times. They had very good food. Mr. Smith was always there to say hello. Prayers for his family at this time.Shari Records

If you knew Mike, as many of us classmates did, you knew what it was to see his face light up at the sight of you - no matter how long it'd been since you saw him last. I never remember him without the sunniest smile on his face. Any of us who remained connected with Mike through the years, no matter how infrequently, will always carry wonderful memories of a wonderful man. My thoughts and prayers are with Ginger and Shelle, as well as all his friends who will feel this loss greatly.

What an impressive man whose work ethic was 2nd to none! The world would be a better place if we had more like him! We enjoyed decades of Mike´s lunches. RIP, Mike.
