E.R. "Rudy" was born Nov. 8, 1916, in Matador to Steve A. Day and Annolee Clower Day. He left April 1, 2004, to be with his heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ for all eternity!!
Rudy Day attended Sunset High School in Oak Cliff and NTAC (now UTA). He worked for Dallas National Bank and Republic National Bank. In 1939, he went to work for Shovel Supply Co. in Dallas and later for Richards Equipment Co. in Waco. In 1949, he started his own company, Moody, Day & Lotspeich Co., with partners, Jim Moody and Archie Lotspeich. In 1980, he and his partner Jim Moody sold their company, then Moody-Day Co. Inc., to Mary Crowley and her son, Don Carter. Over the next 12 years, Rudy involved himself in another venture, Day & Night Automotive. Rudy Day was active in supporting many political leaders as well as serving several terms on the Dallas City Plan Commission and many other areas of public service. He and his wife, Anne, have been members of Calvary Baptist Church for over 65 years, and he had served in God as a deacon since 1951. Rudy Day, our Papa, was a man of great humor and laughter and fun! He had a wonderful family who loves him, and many, many friends. The Bible says that when we are absent from the body, we are present with the Lord. Rudy Day was a born-again child of God, and we know that he is in paradise with his heavenly Father and Jesus! Hallelujah! No more trials and tribulations, no more blindness, no more disabilities. Praise God for our Rudy Day, who will see again in heaven!!
He was preceded in death by his dearly loved daughter, Judy Borders.
