Ruth Reece Obituary
Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Clayton Kay-Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel in Itasca. Internment: Itasca Cemetery. Visitation: was Sunday.
She was born on April 26, 1915, in Three Rivers to Ira and Rosa Lee Davis Gilbreath. Her early childhood was spent in the Pluto and Hillsboro area communities. She married Paul N. Reece on April 17, 1932, in Hillsboro. They lived on their ranch in Hill County, east of Itasca, for over 50 years.
During her long life, she was active in the Eastern Star, Central Baptist Church, Texas Flying Farmers and Ranchers and the North Texas Airstream Community. Mr. and Mrs. Reece were active during the founding of the NTAC in Hillsboro and traveled extensively in their Airstream for over 20 years. Mrs. Reece was an accomplished homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her husband and son. She was happiest seeing family and friends, enjoying one of her delicious meals.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Rosa Lee Gilbreath; husband of 71 years, Paul N. Reece; sisters, Myrtle Lee Smith and Mary Taylor; brothers, Jack and Bill Brackett.
Survivors: Son, Paul A. Reece of Itasca, Richard Benton of Itasca; sisters-in law, Nelwyn Jackson, Bettye Reece and Mildred Adkins of Fort Worth, Jackie Hughes of Temple, Ruth Neal of Austin, Betty Brackett of The Woodlands; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Arthur, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother. As you know, I held both of your parents in the warmest regards, as did my folks. I heard often from my Dad, Alvin that Paul was his best friend as they grew up. Our esteem for them both never diminished. Please know that if there is ever anything that I can do, do not hesitate to contact me.
