Sandra Richards Obituary
August 16, 1960 - June 3, 2023
Fort Worth, Texas - Sandra Elaine Richards (Sandy) went to her home in heaven on June 3, 2023 surrounded by loving family and friends during her final days. She was born August 16, 1960 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Sandra grew up in Fort Worth and graduated from O.D.Wyatt H.S. with Cum Laude honors. She graduated with honors from TCJC in journalism and in 1986 completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Rehabilitation at the University of North Texas. Sandy wrote her first poem in Jr High and went on to write over 400 poems and prose. Her primary themes were spirituality, nature, friendship, feminism, discrimination, and equality. Sandy's Christian faith was always important. She earned a Certificate in Theological Studies at Brite Divinity School in 1995. Throughout her endeavors Sandy gathered lifelong friendships. Sandy's pleasures included creative writing, travel, being in nature, on beaches, viewing sunsets, her love of books, and spending time with family, friends and her many cats especially Texan. Sandra was preceded by her Father, Ronald H. Richards. Cherishing her memory are: Mother, Mary Ann Ronan Richards; Sister, Cherie Richards Sharp and husband, Russell; Brother, Richard J. Richards and wife, Stephanie; Nephew, Russell Sharp, Jr. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Brite Divinity School.
Memorial Service: July 5th 3PM @ Robert Carr Chapel 2855 S University Drive. TCU
