Am so sorry to hear about Tommy's passing but I know that he's having a wonderful time in Heaven with all the family!!!
He was a WONDERFUL COUSIN that came to visit with Daddy during Daddy's final days. He & Daddy would talk for hours about what mischief they'd get into as kids.
Love You Bunches Cousin!!!

Tom Weaver was a close friend of my papaw DC Barefield, as well as my parents, Mike and Susan Barefield. The earliest memories I have are ones from our first family home across the street on Waters Pl. Even as a child is was hard to miss his kindness toward his neighbors, community and country. To my brother and I, he will always be THE home depo man, ALWAYS working on something, wearing his trucker hat and suspenders. His memory will ways be a staple of my childhood. On behalf of the entire Barefield clan, our condolences to his family, and friends, as well as the great state of Texas, for their loss.

From the (other) great state of Tennessee,

We have known Tommy for years and years and will miss him. Generous to a fault and kindhearted, he will be missed by many. His warm greeting and his Christian life were always evidenced by his eagerness to help anyone.

Tommy Weaver was absolutely one of the best men I have ever met and I feel richly blessed to have had a friend like him in my life. He said people would ask him how he stays so happy all the time and he would tell them it's because he prays. Heaven has gained a true hero. A true hero indeed..

To say we loved Tommy very much is such an understatement. I first met Tommy when I was 21 years old and dating his cousin. Well, here I am 66 years old and married his cousin. We would sit with him and listen to tales of his milk runs and battle stories. I wish we had recorded them. He would mention the names of the men he served with and it took us back to a moment in history. Talking about "active" he was out mowing the neighbors lawn on his riding lawnmower right after having hip surgery. And he loved Ginger (his dog). Always trying to get Damon to be more active; wanting Damon to start scraping metal or anything to get him up and about. I know that we shared him with his Whataburger friends and the people at his church.
